General Information

What is Gazing Moon?

Gazing Moon (望月) is an upcoming free-to-play, urban open-world Action RPG developed by an independent Chinese studio. It combines high-speed hack-and-slash combat with a unique “Moon Spirit” companion system, set in the cyberpunk-inspired Tianyue City.

When is the release date?

There is no official release date yet. However, based on the current testing schedule (with a major offline playtest held in June 2026), industry analysts expect a global launch in Late 2026 or Early 2027.

Is Gazing Moon an MMO?

No. Gazing Moon is primarily a single-player, story-driven open-world game. However, it features limited multiplayer elements (co-op domains, mini-games in the city, and social hubs) similar to Genshin Impact.

Platforms and Accessibility

What platforms will it be on?

Gazing Moon is confirmed for PC, iOS, and Android. A PlayStation 5 version is highly expected, though not officially announced for day one. For detailed specs, see our System Requirements Guide.

Will there be Cross-Save and Cross-Play?

Yes. The game will support full cross-save (cross-progression) between PC and mobile devices, allowing you to seamlessly switch between platforms using the same account.

Is the game coming to Global/English?

Yes. A simultaneous global launch with full English text localization and English voice acting is highly expected.

Gameplay and Mechanics

How does the combat work?

Combat is real-time and fast-paced, featuring basic attacks, elemental skills, and ultimate abilities. The core mechanic is Chaos Collapse, where dealing elemental damage breaks an enemy’s posture, allowing you to stun them and trigger powerful “Moon Spirit Combos” (QTEs).

What are Moon Spirits?

Moon Spirits are creatures you can capture in the open world. They serve multiple purposes:

  1. Combat Companions: They fight alongside you and provide buffs.
  2. Mounts/Traversal: You can ride them to glide, sprint, or climb.
  3. Utility: They help solve puzzles and gather resources.

Do I have to pull for Moon Spirits in the Gacha?

No! Unlike characters and weapons, Moon Spirits are captured in the open world using a mechanic similar to monster-catching games. You weaken them in combat and throw a “Moon Prism” to catch them.

Monetization and Gacha

Is Gazing Moon Pay-to-Win?

Like most modern gacha games, Gazing Moon is free-to-play but features a monetization system to acquire new characters and weapons. While paying players will have access to more characters and stronger weapons faster, the core story and open-world exploration are designed to be fully clearable by free-to-play (F2P) players.

How does the Gacha (Warp) system work?

Based on current information, the gacha system features a “Pity” mechanic:

  • Hard Pity: You are guaranteed a 5-star character at 80 or 90 pulls.
  • 50/50 System: When you hit a 5-star, there is a 50% chance it is the featured limited character. If you lose the 50/50, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured character.

What are the Pre-Registration rewards?

The game has surpassed 5.54 Million pre-registrations. Players who start at launch will receive 10x Standard Pull Tickets, an exclusive avatar frame, and various upgrade materials. Read our Pre-Registration Guide for more details.
